Hair brushes like this are the only kind that work for my kids (we all have long, very thick hair!) I have tried all of the gimmicky ones (that are supposed to be good for tangles) and all of the different more expensive / fancy ones — and these are still the best for us [and our curly Jewish hair!] I have no concern for Lead in modern hair brushes like this [but often find Lead in vintage or antique hair brushes (especially antique Silver – ones like the one your grandmother might have had on her dressing table)].
